When the beat stops

My neighbour’s 2 kids are home. I found out that their school had another child who has swine flu. The precautions here are very quickly put into place and acted upon.

First, the school has been closed.

Second, the kids are under orders to remain at home, under quarantine.

Third, they are taking Tamiflu under doctor’s advice.

I just wonder how they would deal with a similar situation in Trinidad and Tobago…

I can see the patient having to buy his own medicines.

I can see the patient’s colleagues etc told to report to work/school as normal.

I can see Jerry Narace smiling on TV and selling insurance at Trinre in case they don’t make it, and then refusing to pay since swine flu is an Act of God.

Even as the beat stops, it goes on…
