In God to trust

One likens oneself to God in hope of winning an election

“I am the most vilified Prime Minister this country has ever had. But I want to warn them, yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, because my God is with me! My dear friends, let them put that in their pipe and smoke it!” Manning said at the HiLo car park in the UNC constituency of St Augustine.

Delivering the feature address at the PNM’s first general election campaign meeting, Manning would repeat a variation of that quote no less than four times.

Of course, money spending as if it coming out of their wazoo:

He also trumpeted the Government’s housing programme saying the PNM has committed itself to construct 8,000 houses every year at a cost of $1.5 billion. “And we did this because we care...we recognise the need for housing as a means of development.”

Eh? That works out to be about $187,500 per house.. and since they’re building pre-fabricated houses, I sincerely doubt the cost is so high; I wonder where the extra money is going… who responsible for housing again?

Or maybe Hazel needs one?

[He denied a frequent claim that his relationship with Hazel has been strained so much so, that] she has been living separately from him at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

My brackets of course, to make my point. (^_^)
