Cats’ paws

This is weird but true – wherever a cat walks in snow, in the places the paws tread on, the snow melts all the way to the ground.

I admit, I looked in the Internet for any sites/articles to evidence this but so far no luck However, I did take these photos when HRH Elmo went walking in my backyard.

In the first 2 photos, the snow is well over 8 inches deep. HRH Elmo obviously is not heavy enough to sink all the way to the ground (neither am I) and yet, some time later, his footprints are melted all the way down to the lawn grass. By the way, the last photo has snow only a couple of centimetres deep, closer to the doorway.
