Scenes from Bristol

One of the Cap’s many adventures – Bristol! Lovely city.

Dis lady ran a Caribbean food shop. Cap enjoyed dee lady food three days running. Nah..nah.. no running belly. Take it easy. Real Jamaican curry goat, boy!. Real nice.

Dat fella, immortalised to dee right, is Rajah Rammohun Roy. He was an Indian religious, social, and educational reformer who challenged traditional Hindu culture and indicated the lines of progress for Indian society under British rule.

He is sometimes called the father of modern India. And he died in Bristol in 1833. See: Wikipedia.

I doh know, but statues also fascinate me. They tell a story – and not only immortalises persons but the values they stood for.
