Turning off Windows Firewall completely

Windows 7 and 8 have built in firewalls. They’re not necessary to have if you have a good firewall in place such as Bitdefender. WF slows down net browsing by doing it’s own thing in the background – that’s my experience.

Manually switching it off leads to it restarting when the computer is restarted. Very pesky indeed.

To stop it restarting requires going into the Advanced Security Settings. The video below explains how to do that. See also this link.
